Private Rentals, pretty interesting
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on January 6th, 2016 @ 6:12PM

Check out: this haha

It seems kinda of a hippy site but I've spent hour+ looking at listings.

Airbnb is great. I traveled a ton in November all over and it was a fraction of the cost of hotels and a great way to see a city. Haven't booked a hotel all year, just use airbnb. I've stayed in some really nice places. I'd never rent out my house to random internet people but I'm happy other people are willing to do it.

Carnival Imagination - 4 Day Cruise - Catalina / Ensenada
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on February 11th, 2015 @ 6:06PM

  • Good entertainment for value
  • Great stateroom host, better than last 2 Disney Cruises
  • Dining crew nice but took forever 2-3 hours per meal
  • got to go with a big group instead of just us 4

  • Food is gross
  • Pool not heated, water slide not heated water, like Disney
  • Smoke smell/Smokers
  • Little entertainment
  • people were pretty scummy but better behaved than Disney cruises
  • No Soda, have to bring your own

We took a 4 day Carnival cruise. Before you say I thought you were poor, the cruise was cheap as f and someone helped pay. My baby mama also makes some money here and there. I said I'd never go on Carnival because they're the McDonalds of cruiselines. You saw the stories of mass outbreaks of sickness or the boat that got stuck for weeks. But it was going places new and they were going without me.

My daughter s mom says don't bash the trip and she was surprised at what you get for the price but I would rather pay more and get higher quality. You can get a shit pizza for $1 or a good one for $10. Which would you pick. The benefit here is there are 9 of us and everyone could afford to go. And for some of them this is their first cruise. This is 5th for me. Im pretty much saving and spending all my money outside of my chicks infernal shopping on cruises. That's how I want to spend my time and money. But I still want to go to Hawaii. Her dad was in the military and said if we get a ride there he can get us a free place at the bases. I want to try that. I want to live in Hawaii.

First stop was Catalina Island the next day. We rented two super slow golf carts. So slow. Later on we were trying to climb hills but we put 4 adults in one cart. It was trying to climb all theses hills and it could barely do it. We went a round Avalon and to a botanical garden. I also got to play plenty of Ingress. So that was cool. I always wanted to go there but it wasn't all that special. Honestly Seaport village or LA Jolla CA is cooler. So unless you're into boats you can skip it. It was fun though. We had to take a double deck boat on and off the ship. The last boat took forever to get back.

Next day was Ensenada, Mexico, probably the worst stop besides Tijauna you could do. We took a bus to town for $1 each. The people there hit you up like crazy. My rube woman had a crowd of people around her and she had spent $15 1 foot off the bus. The people followed you non stop and hit you up like 5-10 times. Most would leave you alone after you said no. We found a good taco place and they hung out for hours. They had wifi which was cool. There was a constant stream of musicians walking in asking for money to play. The shops had total garbage. There were a few cool things besides weapons or fireworks. I bought nothing. My daughter bought bongo drums which is funny. My party would not go to the bus. They made it the last 2 people on the boat. Pretty dumb. I was furious and the kids were scared they would get left.

As for the cruiseline, wait for Disney. It's worth the extra money. There's nothing to do on this boat. You can gamble go to the bars, there are a few shows a day but they are so crappy compared to Disney. I was getting spoiled on Disney but now I'd trade for even their worst boat , the Wonder. Disney has great shows. Lots of shows and activities or at least places with live music. They have shuffleboard x 4. They have movie theaters with free 3d shows. And at shore you can ditch your kids on ship in the kids center all day until you get back. The people on the Disney boats work way harder. They are always cleaning up things or repairing the ship. This ship has stuff uncleaned for long periods.

Disney does their best to encourage people to wash their hands or use wet wipes etc. This ship barely puts any effort in. That's why the carnival people are always getting sick. They just have purell stations and don't try to get you to use them like Disney does.Disney also helps you at the bathroom by opening doors for you. There's lots of auto doors on the ship while this one only has a few. The layout on this boat is pretty bad too. The Carnival Imagination. It's day 4 and i still cant figure out the the layout vs. Disney which I get by day 1 or 2.

Disney is cooler about towels too. They have tons and let you take them anywhere. But Carnival gives you 1 or makes you check out more then charges you $25 if you leave them at the pool. So lame. Its pretty hard to teach kids to be responsible with towels.

Disney gives you 2 wave phones you can use for your rooms. That makes it easier to stay in touch but the boy always jacks one. This boat you find people because people go to the room more because there's less to do.

I tried their water slide. It was freezing and so slow I had to push myself down haha. Disney Dream and Fantasy have this awesome Aqua Duck water raft ride. The magic has some new aqua plunge. That's the only boat we haven't tried.

The food on this Carnival is not as bad as I imagined but it is pretty bad. The pizza is so bad it makes mall Sabbarro pizza taste good. They have burgers and that's about all that you can eat. They dump the gross shit like pickles and onions i have to pick off.The breakfasts are horrible. I just eat frosted flakes and boxed milk. Their fruit all tastes gross too. I hate my cafe but it's 1000 times better than this. The dinners are ok but they take 1-3 hours to serve it. Their desserts are bad too. Every dessert I try is gross. Only the ice cream is good. This is food that you eat to survive but that isn't very good or memorable. The dinners have halfway decent steaks. Their fries even suck. They did have decent bread (how do you fuck up bread) and mango soup which was good.

There is nothing to do on this boat since I don't drink, gamble, or dance. The entertainment blows. Disney and Royal Caribbean have a movie theater. This has nothing. Their pools blow. They have a shitty golf course but don't give you paper to do your score. Their adult area and even their clubs and bars suck. Save your money for better cruises. The boat smells like shit in a lot of areas too. Like our hallway.

They charge you for soda so you have to bring your own too. Or drink tons of lemonade. On Disney I drink Coke all day so I'm awake. This one I'm always sleepy. They also cover the place in photo shoots and force take your photos at dinner trying to jack up the price selling you pictures. They have 10+ photo shoots in a row then block the halls to dinner or the deck without the them. Getting on they gave us bs about security concerns to stop us from taking our own photos to instead force theirs which were magically exempt.

Our room is decent though. The TV keeps breaking. I have to unplug then plug it in to fix it. The beds are cozy. There is plenty of room in the rooms but because the top beds come of the ceiling you have to not bonk your head and do lots of crouching. When the beds are away there's lots of room, even more than some of the Disney cruises.

Sometimes its so boring I just go to bed. But it's probably worth it one time for a Pacific cruise. They do have Disney cruises on the west coast but you have to ride their worst boat the Wonder.

It's worth the extra money to fly to Florida. The Caribbean weather is so much better. The weather is so cold here you can never enjoy the deck or pool. They have a water slide but the water is so cold the kids ran screaming afterwards. Heat the water.

The people on the boat might be better than the Texans on the wonder though. There are some scary lesbian couple s. Not many hot women but way less giant blobs than the Disney cruises. There are plenty of thug like people though but better behaved than some of the Disney cruises. They do smoke a lot though and it smells like smoke a lot in many areas. We didn't have that problems on Disney.

The kids areas are super sad and they charge you after 10 but 2 out of 3 of the kids had fun. One refuses to even go. So for sure use Disney with kids. But the parents seem to manage the kids better on this trip. My guess is there are tons of cuban\hispanic people that get in at Miami who don't seem to watch their kids vs. Long Beach California who seem to manage their kids better. When you have kids the shitty parents and kids really stand out.

Anyway, it was pretty easy to get off the boat, way easier than Disney actually, but probably because we took our own bags and got off at 7-8 a.m. It was a fun trip.

So how would you rank the cruise ships overall (best to worst)?

- 2015-02-10 00:45:20

The Imagination is a second tier carnival ship. You should try the big ships like the Dream for the Magic. We loved our 7 day cruise on the Magic and are taking a second cruise on it this April.

- 2015-02-10 04:28:45

How have you not leaned their are far better vacations than cruises. You`re paying the cruise owners, staff, maintenance and other people. You could just pay an airfare, and a hotel, then give the rest to the locals.

- 2015-02-10 18:28:37

Yeah you can but the Disney Boat has a lot of food, fun, rides, movies, beds, etc. You could just skip and go to the destinations but that's not as fun.

- 2015-02-10 18:44:31

I wasn't that interested in a cruise until I took one. Loved it. Wife loves it. It allows us to both drink and have a good time. Otherwise I'm driving (and thus not drinking) and she is having fun :P As an added bonus I get to see my wife in a Bikini all day long. We absolutely loved our cruise on the Carnival Magic. Can't wait to do it in April.

OMG the flight was the worst. We were in a row that the flight attendent let us sit. Then this whole family gets on the plane at the last second and claims their seats. So me and MBacon get moved to the very back row in the plane next to the bathroom. It was so gross because of that smell of the weird chemical in the toilet. Then the whole flight we dealt with people going to the bathroom. That wouldn't have been so bad, we had 1 extra seat except.

This dumbass dad with a baby strapped to his chest sat there for nearly 4 hours next to us in the aisle next to the bathroom bouncing the baby. I discovered the "baby" was nearly 1 year old. WTF. It caused me so much anxiety having this dude bouncing for hours. The flight attendants kept telling him again and again he had to sit down. He never listened. He would say "I hear what your saying" then proceed to ignore them. He would go back to his seat. Stand up, turn around backwards and go back to bouncing. Whenever he stopped bouncing, the demon child would scream. So he was somewhat doing a service except wtf, why take a kid who did planes that badly. You can't expect to stand in a plane for a 4 1/2 hour flight. It was just a nightmare. What was super lame is they made us give up our seats to them then they spent their entire flight in OUR row. Take our row. He should have just sat in the back. What a dick.

He kept walking into my row, and he'd lean over me and be bouncing this kid. I put the tray table down in the extra seat so he'd quit doing that. I'd try to sleep (got 4 hours sleep night before) and I'd wake up to have him in my face bouncing. It was a fucking nightmare. Then he went back to his seat but every time I'd open my eyes he'd be looking right at me with creepy smile 5 or 6 rows ahead. I was about to loose it. He was a nice guy if you talked to him. My chick was like oh what a wonderful dad but I was about to loose it on this guy and so were the flight attendants.

That's 3 flights now ned by people and their babies. The one before it 2 years ago had a kid screaming for 5 hours. Fuckers. You pay all that money and have people ruin your flight. These assholes need to learn to use baby bottles or breast feed them to sleep.

Went to Big Bear on Saturday/Sunday. The snow places were so sad, it was full of slush, and if you fell off the path, it was just grass. We did the Alpine Slide for $20 which was pretty cool. It's this luge sled on rollers. It went pretty fast. We stayed in a nice timeshare place along with 5+ other "family" members. We got the bedroom so it worked out fine. I'd like to go again. We took a bus tour and it was awesome because it went to all the portals (ingress) to loot along the way. The place was full of 100% Mexicans. I think I saw 1 white person.

On the Alpine slide this teen Mexican kid was saying "f you nword" over and over to a 5 year old girl. What class. Parents are so rotten and it's idiocracy for sure.
