I hope you caught it because it was fucking AMAZING BALLS. Emotional. Inspirational. MURCIA. Then we have the historical aspect of him launching his car into space. Previously only moon rovers are out there and not exactly a regular car people could actually own. Then the rockets landed in place back on earth. I hope that inspires America.
advance it to the CAR Part.
Watch the CAR LIVE. So funny. They should make him move or recharge the car by solar or something cool.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who got choked up watching this. Absolutely amazing engineering. The visual of those two 1st stage rockets landing precisely on target and within a second of each other was mind blowing.

Back in December a close friend (who works there) took us on a tour. We were able to see them working on rockets and the Falcon that is going to be manned. We were standing there outside mission control, where their employees were cheering in those launch videos. Our friends name is on that plaque that went into space. The people that work there are brilliant.
About SpaceX, their facility is operating 24hours a day and they almost assemble a rocket daily (.7 of a rocket is made daily, so closer to 2 every 3 days). That Falcon Heavy used 27 rockets and they are all re-usable. That middle booster part, they make one of those a week.
Also, the landing of all those re-usable parts...fully automated. The manned Falcon that is being built, he pointed out it doesn't have all the controls, it pretty much has an LCD panel for controls as that is almost all fully automated as well. Of course we couldn't get very close to the Falcons because they were in a huge clean room, all we could do was look in at them.
If you want to have an idea of what the facility looks like, that was the set in Iron Man 2 (they also have a full Iron Man statue by their elevators).
I don't know if I will every get a chance to visit that place again, it was one of those once in a life time things, but I was speechless walking around that place.

As far as that car is concerned...
I find it funny when I read those articles about "Would that car run again if they brought it back to earth?"
We were told that the car is gutted, it is pretty much just the body, frame, tires, and the interior that was left intact.
So the answer to that question is, no, it wouldn't run when it left, so it certainly wouldn't run when it came back.
