Found $57 so far. I only had found $130 in 3+ years last time.

Metal Detecting: 3 Years of Finds
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on March 22nd, 2017 @ 12:28PM

No one noticed or complained I spelled FINDS wrong.

I went through all my stuff except the $130 in change I used to buy the new detector. I now have maybe $35 of NEW money I've got with the new detector. But I'm spending it fast on accessories.

Really cool stuff. I've thought about getting a medal detector eventfully and it's really neat seeing all the stuff you've found.

Metal Detecting and Dbag Veggi cops and Old people
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on March 20th, 2017 @ 6:36PM

Only dug up about $2 this weekend. I start to detect the corner of my housing place. It's from the year 1978 or so. Then what do you think? Some ahole old person comes by and asks me what I'm doing. Saying he's on the board. Saying hey you aren't digging the grass right.

I think I've paid $20,000 in HOA fees. I can dig for fucking 50 cents of coins. Fuck them.

I pay those pieces of shit $160-200 a month for the HOA. And what do those fuckers ever do for us? NOTHING. They left a word "FUCK" dug into the cement next to the spa for 2 years. They left the 2 basketball backboards broken for 6 months to a year. They're horrible. So fuck them. So I waited until he left and kept going. HOAs are total shit. They raised the price of a ticket for parking in front of your own garage to $200 for the first offense.

The HOA let all the common landscaping go for years. There was a recall and the board members were replaced one time. They stockpiled the money and did who knows what with it. I have the financial statements but I'm too lazy to figure out what they did but it was enough of a scandal to replace the jerks in charge.

Fucking old HOA people I tell you. All they ever do is sit around waiting for someone to do something then call the police about it. It's a stereotype that is reality every time.

I've noticed this a lot lately. Old people seem to only accept this as a hobby: Walking a dog, or walking with no pet. If you're doing ANYTHING fucking else, it's a crime and you're a criminal, despite walking around with over $1,000 in gear. haha.

I've noticed generally, people seem to have a problem with me when I'm wearing a FLAT BILLED hat instead of a hat that bends/curves. When I wear the curve hat I'm fine. If i wear the FLAT bill hat, they go apeshit like I'm some criminal and I get stopped more, even on ingress/biking.

I was in a park last night and 2 people seemed to be having me a problem with digging. Irvine people are especially elitist douchbags.

I told you about that guy in our neighborhood where we had to wait 6 years until he moved out. He saw a hole in someone's garage and called the cops saying the guy killed his wife (over seeing a hole). These assholes have nothing to do and want to be POLICE of the world. STORY

Anyway, I was metal detecting in the field I do for 3 years. This pos college campus cop sees my light in the field. Comes running over in his car. Sees my car on a corner of an area no one ever parks at most of the time then tries to give me a ticket for not having their bullshit $5 a day parking pass. You don't even FIND $5 a day in the field. He let me go but it's just total horseshit. It was a weekend, no one was on campus. People often are on campus on the weekend with no passes. He's just being a dick. He would have never saw me if I didn't have my head lamp on. THEN they never fix their parking lots since 1970 with all the $5 a day x 1000s of people. So the detecting was fine it's just he wanted his $5. He even asked what I found. Hey dickhead I ain't telling you shit cuz you're kicking me out.

For the college, if it's not hurting anyone and a weekend, fuck them too.

So generally, people are assholes if you aren't doing what they EXPECT you to do.

But as a practice overall, you don't dig where you don't have permission, and I only dig in public parks or the beach where it's allowed.

If you are paying in, you should have access to the HOA budget. I'd be curious what they are spending their money on. Crazy they wouldn't repair the backboards in a decent amount of time.

Metal Detecting: I found a crack pipe / Marijuana Container
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on March 14th, 2017 @ 12:22AM

I thought you could find broken crack pipes on every street corner in Cali. Just kidding.... that is only the poor neighborhoods, right?

- 2017-03-13 16:32:09

No that's in the 1-2 million dollar houses area. haha.

- 2017-03-13 18:31:48

The last house we rented I found a glass crack pipe above the built in entertainment center. I was actually fixing it for the owner because it was sagging just a bit, and looking at it a tad bit crooked was driving me nuts. As I was pushing the edge into place the pipe fell out into my hands.

This wasn't a low rent place either, the house was a 2800 Sq. Foot 4 Bed house that in CA goes for about 900k.

Anyway, that is my story and I am sticking to it. :-)

Got the ultimate shovel on Monday. I went out with it. I'm waiting on a new coil on Friday which will allow me to better pick through all the iron and trash at parks. Then I should be set up.

This shovel is going to get me arrested. I thought about printing out the page to show it's not a weapon haha. Or cover it with fake blood.

Looks like a deadly weapon for dirt. The Halo version of a Shovel.

Garrett AT Pro VDI Numbers & Tones for Most US Coins
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on March 1st, 2017 @ 11:52AM

Probably none of you care but who cares. I spent DAYS on this video. First time I used split screen.

The idea here is I take US coins, run them across the detector and show what the detector says so people can identify what to look for by looking at the screen.

I have no idea what the video is about, but it seems you stepped up your game in terms of production value. Next move would be to get a tripod or some kind of mount to eliminate shaky cam. Do you use a mic?

- 2017-03-01 11:44:55

I had a tiny tripod set up for that one. Thanks.

Mic, nope. My kid has a $60 ball mic if I ever need it.

Metal Detecting
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on February 27th, 2017 @ 12:18PM

Dug up a total of about $27 in 2 weeks. Then I lose it all trying to buy a kid a new bike. haha. The most interesting thing I found was a Canadian dollar coin. Otherwise, I found a few 1965 coins (1 year short of silver) which is pretty infuriating. haha.

Dug up $9 yesterday, about $4 today. Never worth the money of course. I've learned my detector can find dimes like NUTS. I dug up like 100+ dimes.

I think I never find any good treasure because I'm not just completely clearing places. They say dig anything over VDI 39 (1-100). The last detector I'm just digging when I hear the coin sound when instead I should have been digging every damn thing. BUT the problem is, that adds like DAYS of work to clear that much trash. I don't know if I have the time to dig that much trash. I think it would take 2-3 weeks to dig all the targets at my park I've hit 2 days in a row.

Then they're saying get this $100 shovel. I noticed today I'm spending forever digging when that shovel will probably massively reduce the time I'm spending digging. So I don't know. I'm kneeling down and using this little hand digger thing which works most of the time.

I also notice my detector is really sucking in the trashy parks. I need the $120 "TRASH" smaller coil.

Anyway this detector is what I shoulda been using the whole time. It's the one off DIGGERs, the 3 season Metal Detecting show. It was $300 more but it's worth it for sure. Who knows what I would have found had i started with this one.

Before I felt like I had cleared out parks, but this one shows hey there's like $1000s in change there and you'll never get it all. haha. So I hit like 100 parks, when I coulda got this detector and just stuck to 2 areas for most of the money.

2/15 - My metal detector has arrived an unfortunately, I've had to work all day waiting to go home and try it. I'm going to pack it up and go to my field I always go to. I sure hope they don't ever bar me from my field of 4 years or I'll get suicidal.

2/11 - OK I ordered another detector. I still have to sell my old one. I have it on craiglist and company for sale list for $180-200.

Garrette AT Pro. $550. There's still better detectors but the next jump is like $1,500. $1,000 MORE! The ultimate goal is to find things that help you buy better metal detectors and then sell your old ones. If you find some good gold/rings etc, that's possible. I was able to ALMOST find as much as the detector cost. $200.

To fund the purchase:

  • Trying to sell old detector for $180-$200.
  • $100 off this site for a period of 6 months coming in. A long time ago someone used to pay me like $20 a month. Those were the days. There were two golden months MANY years ago where I got a total of $500.
  • Found $130 in change with last detector to turn in
  • Won Amazon Gift Certificate $30
  • Load Amazon Gift balance, extra $5
  • Got $70 gift card for signing up for one Amazon card.
  • Got ANOTHER $50 for signing up for another Amazon card. I only lost (1) credit score for adding those. That's worth it. my score is awesome.

Metal Detecting: The Day has Come!
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on October 21st, 2016 @ 2:51PM

10/21/2016 - This mystery is old now but some progress. I bought a duplicate hard drive. I'm hoping to swap the contents. check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZx-tU1_gOw. Also, I was able to duct tape the phone battery into a different charger and turn it on. The screen sorta turns on but you can't see it. I'm thinking if I get a USB cable, I can maybe read things off the phone.

Original post: July 14th, 2015 @ 1:09AM
Update 2: Opened up the computer. This is how I did it here. Here's what the insides looked like. No clue if hard drive will work, we'll see! It might blow my 3rd computer hahah.

Update: Phone appears to be this one and it takes this battery. Anyone have a charger?

I dug up a Asus computer from 2012 and a phone with it. Neither will turn on so far.

I need a charging cable. The screen is all cracked.

For the phone, it won't turn on either. I think I'd need to recharge the battery with an external charger.

I'll probably never top that. People think it's stuff from a drug deal or child porn on there.

Also dug up a ring, that is probably not real elsewhere.

What should we do with it? I tried to clean it up best I could. here is the charge cable for it. Another said just pull out the hard drive. Anyone want to buy it? haha.

Can you put the hard drive into an external case?

I tried the parkinglot where we found nothing a year or two back, and now there's tons of money all over it. I always go until it's dark then quit. I tried going M-F but the security guards won't let me park in the field during that time. On the weekends they seem to ignore me. They did put up 2 signs saying NO PARKING, just for me though, hahahaha.

4/20/2016 - I was metal detecting along and this dumb security guard drives his stupid golf cart way into the field to tell me I can't park there. haha. It's fine on the weekends but during school time, i guess they want their $$$$. They raised the parking to extreme numbers, like $3 per day. That's more than I would find in the field.
