Happy Birthday Catz
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on January 18th, 2018 @ 10:48AM

He's 16 today. I found him when I was 3. He's an Overwatch semi-pro and he loves cats.

Catz Profile

Have you started to teach him how to drive yet?

My youngest just turned 16 in October and I have had her driving around in parking lots. I still haven't signed her up for a drivers class yet like I did with my other daughter.

If I am wrong and that is not your girlfriend's son. This post makes no sense...heh. Please ignore.

Edit 2:

I keep reading over your post and it doesn't make sense... I found him when I was 3? I am very confused now.

M.Bacon is 10 today!
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on January 8th, 2018 @ 5:01PM

10 years ago today I surprised you with the out of nowhere birth of my daughter. When some of you thought I was gay. haha. You had a massive outpouring of gifts for her, $1000+. Which meant the world.

She's now 10 years old today! She got to go to Florida's Universal Studios (Harry Potter) for her Birthday. She also bought some globe thing.

Happy Birthday M. Bacon! I remember being completely surprised as well. I didn't think you were gay, but it was like surprise motherfuckers "I have a baby".

Don't know if you still have it but you had a picture of her when she was a baby crying because she got stuck under a chair and couldn't get out that was hilarious. It's been awesome to hear you write about how creative and fun she is and I'm glad she has brought so much joy to your life.

Happy birthday again M. Bacon!!!!!

Disneyland Hotel
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on December 9th, 2017 @ 9:40PM

I got a free Disneyland Hotel night for my 20 years and a private table (with no guards). So that was pretty cool.

I asked where to park and Disney said straight at the stop sign. That led me up some private parking garage where apparently I wasn't supposed to go at all. There were 5 cars up there. So I parked up there and had my own private entrance to my car whenever I wanted. I think it's some employee parking? Who knows. When I left today I was the only car up htere. hahaha. It was all blocked off so no one could go in but I could always leave. I think they meant turn a little right into the lower parking lot, instead of going where I went. haha.

The elevator to my room was almost near the exit to the Christmas party so it was really cool where we could have the kids up there, get ready and then go to the party. Then duck out of the party to go to the bathroom or take loads of food/cookies back to the room. hah. It was a great experience but I think the rooms are normally like $400 a night.

I got a special mention for 20 by the Ceo too and a little card for it. Still waiting on the crown to be created...

That is pretty awesome. Congratulations! Thanks for your hard work!

- 2017-12-10 11:27:38

Gratz on 20 years! I've been waiting for you to post something about it. Don't you get a weapon, or shield or helm or something too?

Now he's running into issues where he's trying to get jobs but he was an Exec Producer at Disney/Marvel so it's hard for him to find work. He's interviewed everywhere between San Diego and LA.

But he's still bad ass enough to give me Ghost Buster Car Legos. That's been on my wish list for like 3 years. It's up to $84. The Fire Station is $349!

My uncle just died to cancer. He was an Airforce guy during Vietnam. It also got my grandma. Then a bunch of people in Megan's family.

Health Class
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on June 3rd, 2015 @ 9:58AM

Momette is in health class (7th grade) and they're rules are that you can't laugh or even SMILE or you get instant F, kicked out of class, and detention. Doesn't that sound a bit extreme. They were talking about wieners sticking up. I said, raise your hand and say, teacher, what if mine is sticking up right now?

It's sad how that shit is all funny to us adults, but kids are expected to be serious about it? Yeah right. I hate my kids school.

0 tolerance = 0 thinking

the problem is that today if the kid fails a class it's the teachers job to explain why, not the kids.

if these are the actual rules, it's probably this extreme because it can't be left up to the teachers discretion what is or isn't disruptive and not serious discussion (joke questions about jerking off vs real questions about jerking off).

if little jimmy keeps laughing and disrupting the class every time the words erection or penis are used and a teacher decides enough is enough and sends him out of the class the parent will most likely come in and yell at the teacher nowadays.

so you get these rules, ANY LAUGHING, ANY SMILING gets you kicked out. no leeway, no critical thinking required, idiot parents can't blame individual teachers for their little shit being an idiot because it's clear and defined from the get go.

the collateral damage is now kids can't ask if masturbating will give you hairy palms (it can be a legitimate question if you're 11 and have only learned things about this on the playground) because they COULD be joking around.

- 2015-06-03 10:10:51

Comment time!
This sort of policy is not made in a vacuum. It is implemented as the result of a lot of shitty experiences with kids being overly disruptive and parents complaining about how their kid was punished for it. Either teachers/schools are allowed to kick-out and punish individual kids for being overly disruptive, or you end up with a draconian zero-tolerance policy.

- 2015-06-03 11:57:35

No reason to be teaching kids about genitalia in school. It's the fucking parents responsibility to teach their kids about that shit not some teacher or questionable beliefs and ethics.

EDITED: 2015-06-03 13:09:50

- 2015-06-03 12:08:32

Hey, How about this? Take sex ed out of the class. Oh noooes, they won't learn it at home? The district can put together a comprehensive packet they can send home with each kid. Parents can teach from the packet whatever they want. What if the parent refuses to teach the kid? Oh well, they are in the same boat as the home schooled kids who don't get it.

- 2015-06-03 13:17:41

There is a reason underage sex is illegal....because kids aren't mature enough to make responsible decisions until they come of age. So why should it be expected they are mature and responsible enough to learn about sex that they can't legally participate in?

- 2015-06-03 13:29:45

on topic: I think a more balanced approach would be to say if you get the giggles or are otherwise disruptive, you will be asked to step outside until you can regain your composure. For missing class, you get to write a report on the symptoms and treatment of STD X if you want to get a passing grade.

off topic: Charkoth, the problem is that you also have parents of questionable beliefs at home that won't teach anything or teach the abstinence only approach.

Look at the recent news out of TX with the school with no sex ed. The kids didn't know how to protect themselves and the school has a major STD outbreak. http://abcnews.go.com/Health/chlamydia-outbreak-hits-texas-high-school-sex-ed/story?id=30798143

Now comes the 7th grade is too young argument. I agree 7th grade is too young to be having sex. However, some kids still do. Not many, hopefully, but I knew kids that were active when I was that age and that was 25 years ago. So I'd rather teach kids before they are even thinking about it, as uncomfortable as that will make them and me. These are not instructional classes on how, when, etc. to have sex. They are classes on how we reproduce, why we have the feelings and urges we do, the risks of sex, and how to protect yourself and your partner in the event you do act upon those urges. Usually with a strong emphasis on no protection is 100% and you better be ready to accept any outcomes that can happen if you do.

In 7th grade, kids are what? 13? About 5% of boys are active by that age and 2% of girls. That is based on the graph at http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/FB-ATSRH.html Surely not what I want my kid to be doing at 13, but if he does I want him to be aware of the risks and how to reduce those risks.

(not a lawyer and laws vary by state disclaimers here) Underage sex is illegal if one party is an adult. I highly doubt if teens are caught in the act, either would be charged with a crime. Even if it was illegal, kids do stupid shit. Something being illegal will not stop someone who really wants to do it. Especially when the act is done in private and they are convinced the partner would never tell because they are in love.

EDITED: 2015-06-03 14:55:37

Big W
- 2015-06-03 14:54:47

we can argue about which age is appropriate. but sex ed should absolutely be part of curriculum imo. lots of tragedy comes from people not understanding how babymaking and STDs work. yes, parents should be able to handle this, but that isn't always the case.

- 2015-06-03 16:02:20

Not sure if Charkoth is trolling or being serious.

Sex & age is a societal issue. Once a girl is menstruating, she's already ready to bear kids at a biological standpoint. IIRC, sex ed is when girls learned about menstruation and why it occurs. To leave out half the information, for example why ovaries produce eggs or go into more detail about that, would not make sense form an educational standpoint.

It is the school's responsibility to teach the biology to students. It is the parent's responsibility to teach the social aspect to their kids.

also, does that means should not know the hazards of alcohol until they are of legal age?
