Florida Bugs
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on October 13th, 2015 @ 3:39PM

One thing that does suck about Florida is the bugs. But the everglade national park had the most bugs I've ever seen. I barely got out of the car before tons were flying in, and all over me. Bug spray #1 did little to stop them. We had to go to extreme bug spray #2 to stop them. And then they were still trying to fly in my ear. Least in California you only have to deal with ants and rarely flies. A few places I lived had 0 ant problems. My current place has big time ant problems during certain times of the year. If I was willing to pay the exterminator's bullshit monthly fees ($100+) i wouldn't have to deal with them but who wants to pay $1200+ a year.

Dry Heat vs. Damp/Humidity
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on October 12th, 2015 @ 5:17PM

I definitely like coming back to California after Florida for the DRY heat instead of humid. I sweat so much in Florida. haha. It was 96 here yesterday and it actually didn't feel as bad as Florida. haha.

But also, I wish I could have come home to cooler weather. Instead it's been (4) days of heat advisories for California.

Back from Florida for 16 days

Update: Photos

Disney Magic - Vacation 1

I was hiding from my lame ass stalkers in Ingress so I didn't post what was going on. We left on 9/24 to Florida and had 3 vacations.

Vacation 1: Orlando. (Vacation 2: Disney Cruise 4 days, Vacation 3: The Florida Keys/Miami). I haven't calculated the costs but it should be around what we had for last year. I save all year. But I'm way behind due to my 3rd worst bonus ever.

Stayed at the Disney CHEAP resort called Art of Animation for $160 a night. One day. The Disney Bus picked us up from the airport so that was cool. It had TONS of portals so I was happy. We had massive jet lag day one. Our flight got there at 5am and luckily they gave us our room at 8am EST. We slept until 5pm and wasted that entire day. I paid like $700 for 1 day pass for 4 to Epcot and a waterpark pass which had a bonus visit for various places. We picked Disney Quest. Their giant arcade. It was tons of fun. My favorite is this stand up snow ski game OR this sit down snowmobile game.

Epcot - First time I've been there. It was incredible. We went to every "land" and did most of the rides but really wanted a second day to do everything. There were tons of ingress missions. I did like 85 haha. I had 39 left when it closed. We loved the Mexican ride in Mexico town. We really enjoyed it all. But one of my top 10 bands I hate the most was there, Wilson Philips. haha.

Typhoon Lagoon - We wanted to go to Blizzard Beach, Disney's one of two water parks. But the fuckers closed it that day. We had a fit and by the time we made it to the other park, it was 1:30 and it closed at 5. But we managed to do everything at Typhoon Lagoon. It was tons of fun. I totally recommend their water parks BUT don't buy them ahead of time due to that closing bullshit. We asked for a refund but they refused to do anything for us. DON'T BUY WATER PARK TICKETS BEFOREHAND.

Stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort for 3 days. It was amazing. We had a voucher for a time share presentation for 2 days then paid for the 2nd day. The room was the best room I've ever had. It was a 1 bedroom place with a dining room, living room etc. Then below was a lazy river and a pool. We didn't get to enjoy it much though. We went to Downtown Disney (renamed Disney Springs), 2 times.

Looks like your family had fun. I was down there with my family for a week this time last year. Those pics bring back memories. I saw you took a pic of the sub-$2.00 gas prices. How much is it back in CA?

Love to live there and never look back. Except the f-ing toll roads. Geez. They bleed you dry. But their gas is $1-2 cheaper. Makes up for it.

I'd love to live in the Florida Keys, looks like. I want a boat too. Too bad I sucked it up climbing the corporate ladder. I could have had $ and a better house. Oh well. I just wanted to stick to making cool gaming pages and that doesn't really get you places.

Shit Hotel
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on October 9th, 2015 @ 8:08PM

Went to some super shitty hotel. It was $62 a night and had decent reviews on Trip Advisor. The room wasn't so bad, but the problem was the ventilation was all shared between rooms so someone in another room started smoking and it would fill our room. We turned off the air and it would still filter in. But we're hoping we can do a charge back on them or sick American Exp on them. Running a drug dealer den.

We switched to Hampton Inn for about $50 more a night and it was night and day better. Our room rules.

Hotels only for me.

But the Sea Plane will take you for only $1,100! for HALF the day. A full day will cost you fucking $1,995 for a ride over there. A disney 4 day cruise is only $1600.

Going to Florida this Month
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on September 10th, 2015 @ 10:46AM

My 5th trip to Florida. I <3 Florida. WTB Blizzard Florida. This time we're hoping to drive down that awesome freeway to Key West. I saved my $$ all year. I don't even have an XBOX ONE or PS3/4. I almost never buy games except on steam sales. My car is 13 years old/paid for. The Van is paid for but we had to spend $7000 on it thanks to Honda's shitty Odyssey transmissions. F Honda.

What's your plan while you're here? Would live to finally meet you.

If I lived in Florida, where's the best spot?
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on July 2nd, 2015 @ 5:30PM

Where would you say is the best spot to live in Florida? You'd want a place near the beach.

If you had a 100% work from home job and a stellar internet connection, the forgotten coast.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forgotten_Coast

Cheaper cost of living than the emerald coast with an order of magnitude fewer tourists on the beach. all you give up on the beach is the clear blue/green water. the beaches are just as white.

I live in New Port Richey. I'm on the gulf coast about 20-30 minutes north of Clearwater. 30 minutes from Tampa. An hour from Orlando. Far enough away to be very affordable yet still close enough to Tampa/Clearwater/St. Petersburg and even Orlando.

My parents live on Siesta Key, near Sarasota, an hour south of Tampa. It has gotten crowded and expensive, but it is still awesome. Best beach in the country, great weather, good nightlife, good people.

Day 2
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on October 2nd, 2014 @ 7:36PM

Day 2, it was raining like crazy all day. We wasted too much of the day going to lame things like Costco and sleeping in. We went to the largest McDonalds according to the portal name. It had different food, 2 levels. it was crazy.

We went to their Downtown Disney. Ingress was great there. We went to Earl of Sandwhiches, which has the best sandwhiches ever. We went to this place called Disney Quest. Which is the best place ever. Free Arcade games, even classic games. I was playing this awesome Skiing game. Unfortunately it was like $100 to get in for only 1h 50m. I wanted to be there all day.

The giant McDonald's on international drive is nuts!

Day 3
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on October 2nd, 2014 @ 7:36PM

Went to Universal Shitty Walk. They didn't have much compared to Downtown Disney Orlando. They did have these awesome boat taxis in the river that took you between the different hotels. We rode one just for fun. It was great.

Went back to the hotel and did the pools, lazy river, and water slide at the place. I kinda felt like I didn't really get the value out of the place we stayed at. it's a resort but we were never home much. We could have stayed at a crappier place maybe.

Me and the boy went back to Disney Quest for a second night. After 8pm they let you in for half price which was $50 for 2. So we spent like $100 the night before. That place is the best place we've found so far. It has tons of classic arcade games. It had tons of racing games. Check out the link. Totally recommended. I wish I could stay there all day to wear the place out. They have the Star Wars game, the Pod Racer game. All kinds of stuff.

Back in America: Went on Disney Cruise #3 on Disney Dream
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on October 2nd, 2014 @ 7:31PM

We came into some money that I couldn't get my hands on to use for bills so yet again I was forced to go on a cruise but she really helped pay for most of it.

We went on our 3rd Disney Cruise on the Disney Dream. It was just a 4 day cruise because it was like $2000 more for 3 more days. We went to Nassau for the 3rd time for me, and Castaway Cay for the 3rd time. I'm starting to have that island memorized.

Thursday, last week - Drove to San Diego. Flew from San Diego to Orlando in 4 1/2 hours. Then checked into Universal Cabana Resort for 3 days. The food and everything was massively overpriced but the place was pretty nice. They had a Lazy River that we went around for hours and hours. The weather was super crappy for 2 days, raining really hard. We went to Downtown Disney the first night. Second day we went to Universal Shitty Walk and then Downtown Disney again with me and the boy to go to Disney Quest a second time. We found some awesome games there. Some skiing game that you could stand and play. Some snow mobile game. That place is totally recommended, even for the entire day. Then we drove to Port Canaveral and got on our boat.

The Disney Dream is their 2nd best boat. Fantasy is the best. Last year we were on their WORST boat, the Wonder. Don't ever go on that one, it's a piece of shit.

This time we had the worst room of all 3 trips, an inner room. It had 1 less bathroom and was super cramped for 4 of us. But we made due, it's just not as good as the last 2 trips. Also the location was at the front of the boat. You had to get off the elevator and walk for MILES to get to it. So it was also the worst location of 3 times. They also treated us like complete shit because we had the inner room. The first two times, we had a room with either a veranda or a porthole. This time. We had the worst spot at the front of the boat/end of a hall and an inner one on top of that. We almost NEVEr saw the stateroom host and he didn't even ever talk to us or learn our names. So i tipped him nothing more than regular. Other two times we really got to know and like our stateroom hosts and they were a huge part of our cruise. So I was joking we're the lower deck people like Titanic or Waterworld.

The bed was the best and this time the TV was vastly improved with free on demand movies. They had the entire collection of disney and pixar films. Otherwise their free movie selection blew. I ended up watching LIFE OF CRIME which was OK I suppose. But on the very last night when we had no time, they unlocked a bunch of new movies including expendables 3 which I'd never seen. It sucks there was no notification that the line was switching. We tried to watch 2 but ran out of time at 3am haha.

Getting off the boat sucks because we have show at 6pm, dinner at 8pm and the dinner drags on for 2+ hours. So we had 30 mins to pack which for my chick is like walking to the moon. She turned in her bags at 40 mins past the last deadline haha.

While getting on the ship we lost a bag with all my cokes I had just bought and who knows what else. Disney lost it. Then while getting off, we left the other bag with all the snacks and who knows what else. We called them right away but they never responded. Then my favorite disney pin, Aquaduck Fantasy, I lost. Some ahole took it off the floor and never turned it in. Fucks man. This is why God destroyed the world with a flood. Cuz almost every person is garbage from Satan.

The cruise was super fun otherwise besides the room. I ONLY recommend Disney for cruiselines and The Fantasy or the Dream. The Magic has been redone so it could be good, who knows. Or you can't polish a turd cuz it's their oldest ship. 2 more cruises and we go from SILVER member and level up to GOLD member. For some reason I treat that like a RPG and I want to level up my character to Gold. There were tons of Gold members online.

I'd recommend 5 or 7 day cruise. NEVER a 3 day cruise, and 4 was questionable. Save up for the longer times. I think a 6 day cruise or a 5 day might be perfect. The last 7th day kinda drags on.

Thats awesome that you got to go on another cruise. We went on the Disney Dream last year for my daugher's birthday - she turned one. We were really worried about taking her on that type of trip at such a young age, but shockingly it was an incredible trip and probably a lot easier to do at that age as opposed to 18 months-2 years.

We were on the highest deck - the 10th - thinking that it would offer the best views. Unfortionately, it was also the loudest deck, as we could hear everything from the swimming pool just above us - I would definetely recommend going for decks 7-9 if possible.

It is unfortionate to hear that Wonder is their worst ship - for whatever reason, Disney has decided to only use the smaller Wonder and Magic ships for Alaska and European cruises. I hope they eventually build a fifth and sixth ship to perhaps replace these smaller ones.

Have you ever done the Mixology courses?

We were on deck 9 this time. It wasn't loud or anything.
