Fucking T-Mobile
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on March 21st, 2018 @ 6:16PM

The phone carriers always have problems don't they. I had a credit card change. I kept trying to update it on their site. It never would allow that. So we get to the payment date and it goes, HEY WE CAN'T CHARGE. NO SHIT SHIRLOCK. So then it says go to the web site. You go to the web site and try to put in the new card and pay and it goes, OH we don't want you to make a duplicate payment so we're blocking your new payment. Well dumbfucks you're not going to have two payments because the first one is never going to work. ON TOP OF THAT, you already mailed me saying to repay AND then don't even match up what is being sent via text vs. the web site. So I try to just contact a rep to reserve that and they just said try tomorrow. What clown college. This is probably one of the first times ever in 20 years some business has rejected my money. I don't need their protection from double payments. Idiots.

The only thing else I've noticed is they have dead zones here and there while Verizon never had them. And the payment is exactly the same cuz we added 2 new phones + data on a 3rd so it was ZERO savings from Verizon but we did get what I said.

I have AT&T. Dead Zones all over the place.

I`ve researched it and found AT&T and others are intentionally turning the power on their towers down to safe money, but this hurts signals.

It started right after they all switched to unlimited talk and near unlimited data.

Never been a fan of target mutual funds

Nebu those aren't really a mistake to have but as I said I'm not a
huge fan of target funds, they tend to be a bit bond heavy and at our age that's optimal I think.
I like to play a bit riskier which is why I'm seeing such large gains compared to others.
Financial advice when it comes to stocks in general is never a guaranteed thing, if it were everyone would be doing. There are
some things you could do which would be a mistake
(pulling out
during lows etc) but for the most part if you're going to
rebalance
its best to do it near the highs than at the bottom of the lows.
Once things start looking less optimistic 6-12 months down the road then I start shifting back towards less risky slower growth funds.

Also if you can its best to put a big chunk of your retirement into
index funds over mutual funds as they perform similarly on a long timeline yet have far less of an expense ratio which gives you bigger returns overall

T-Mobile
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on December 20th, 2017 @ 12:48PM

Update: T-Mobile seems to do a better job with spam calls. On Verizon I'd get like 5-10 a day. This time I only got 2 and they wee labeled LIKELY SPAM. etch haha.

Update: finally switched over off Verizon hopefully. Fuck Verizon. T-Mobile the store people have been awesome. It's a hip group of millenials. haha. I switched to my Note 8.

I hate T-Mobile. Years ago I was with a wireless provider called Suncom who was bought by T-Mobile. I was in a plan that charged for text messages under Suncom but I noticed under T-Mobile it said I had "free messaging" and I wasn`t being charged. I even called to confirm this was correct. This went on a few months then out of the blue with no warning they charged me for them. I called to say I was told I wouldn`t be and they basically called me a liar even though they had a record of my call. I cancelled on the spot, even ate a $300 cancellation fee. Will never go back to them. Currently I have Cricket and I like it, only downside is d/l speed max of 8 mbps.

Oddly enough, I get English, and my wife gets spanish e-mails from them. It makes no sense.

So yeah, their phone service for me is great, their customer service is pretty lacking.

I have been on Sprint and AT&T. My work phone is on Verizon (which I don't pay for), and out of all of them, T-Mobile has been the best still.

As for what you said spoilsport, I don't blame you for dropping them like a bad habit. I have done the same to many companies even if their service is great. You call me a liar, you get zero of my money.

I fucking hate Verizon, Switching to T Mobile
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on December 2nd, 2017 @ 9:01PM

Update: working on switching to T-Mobile with two Note 8s' but I have to wait for WEEKS for Verizon to credit us for returning an old phone. They suck. They're doing a deal right now, buy one Note 8/S8 S8 plus and get one free. They make you wait 45 days for the money though. Costco had a deal but they ran out of phones.

Original

They're the best and only carrier but they fuck you completely

Base Line: $77.94
M Device Name $14.08
M Device Name $58.87
ME:Device Name $70.01
Total Current Charges
$220.90

what the fuck man why do you need Verizon. You live in a populated area, any carrier should work and most (all?) let you do calls over wifi so you're always covered at work/home.

Switch carriers and find a cheaper plan. I pay $100/month two lines unlimited with t-mobile. Is it really worth all that extra money for the less than 1% of the time you might be out of coverage?

Slev
- 2017-11-14 14:39:37

I have been with T-Mobile for a few years now. I have been very happy with them. Their WiFi calling works great for when I am at home where my signal isn't so great, outside though. Never really had much issue.

Honestly, I sometimes get a signal better than my friend who is on Verizon, in the same spot.

I wanted to add though...While their phone service is great, I think their customer service is lacking.

Fucking Verizon
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on February 15th, 2017 @ 3:29PM

They're charging us like $175 a month for 2 data phones including $14 for one no data phone. That seems way more than anyone should be paying.

their base charge is $80. Then it's like $50 per phone x2. Then $14 for a non data phone. I also have $8 insurance or so.

I do have the OLD unlimited verizon.

Dang. I pay $90 a month for both my wife's and my phone Been doing that for 4 years now. Both phones were just bumped up from 5GB/month to 8GB/month of 4G. That bump up was FREE. 2 years ago I was bumped from 3 to 5, again for free. I rarely went over the 5GB and when I did, it just moved over to 3G speeds.

Do you have unlimited data? Are you using unlimited? If not Get something cheaper. Trying to make money doing things like mechanical turk is rough when you could just save money other places like your phone.

Wootah
- 2017-02-13 11:01:26

How much data do you have between all lines? I`ve got Verizon with 2 lines (unlimited talk/text) and shared 3GB for $90. You`d have to have 15GB+ to get to $175.

Are you possibly paying down the phones themselves monthly?

Delphie
- 2017-02-13 10:12:54

I get it through ATT, we had Cricket, but they rolled over into ATT a few years ago. We did paid for our phone up front, your phone fee of $50 a month seems really steep. Our contract is actually $50 a month including all taxes and fees, but since we have 2 phones, they give us $10 off (for $90 charge).

Wootah
- 2017-02-13 11:24:29

So is the $50 per phone charge you buying your phone through verizon? Or just the charge for any phone with a data plan?

Nalcolm
- 2017-02-14 07:50:46

80 BASE starting charge, then $50 per phone! and only 1 GB of data too one one of them. What horseshit.

This email was sent in error due to an internal issue that has since been resolved. You should receive an invitation email with the subject line “Registration Invitation from Amazon Mechanical Turk” in the next 24 hours. Please follow the instructions in that email to complete the registration process.

Update: They sent me a huge rejection letter for apply to: Make an Extra $50/Week Working for Amazon.com <- They didn't explain at all for what reason I was rejected. I was looking forward to trying that, but it is BITCH work. So maybe I'm better off. It still makes me sad to be rejected though.

It`s probably better to budget and cut needless spending than to waste time/money chasing `schemes.` You`ll probably end up in a pyramid scheme "Oh but it`s totally legit and not a pyramid scheme, the first FAQ answer explains how it`s not a pyramid scheme."

Do you actually have a written out budget of all your income, debts and expenses (monthly, yearly)? Do you know where your money is going?

Interesting. I'll try that search engine elevator.

For me, in the past I've made money selling things on Ebay and doing the occasional Web Development freelance assignment. I'm also really strict about spending money and avoid paying for loans as much as possible (paid off college loans first and always buy cards outright).

based on what i know of your situation, i'd stop all the get rich quick stuff and learn some php or javascript or something similar. i can't see how that wouldn't be enormously beneficial to the day job, and/or open up a lot of other opportunities for actual side gigs.

They jack up summer rates to take advantage of people not wanting to die of heat stroke. Then they go on about supply shortages...as if that hasn't been the case for decades. Maybe...fix the problem already?

I don't have any air conditioning so I save a ton on electric costs. Sure I melt into a puddle of goo a couple of months out of the year but it's worth it seeing those $32 electric bills each month. If I went out and bought an a/c I just know I'd run it 24/7 even if I wasn't really that hot.

Costco got rid of American Express and 83 million people have to switch over to Citibank. But their site is complete crap. Navigating it is horrible compared to the updated American Express site. Every time I create a password and login, it forgets it and I have to do forget password, and start all over. My authorized user can't use their card. Some of their pages don't even load and say try again later. Just complete shit. I want nothing to do with them but you're forced to because of Costco.

Costco just made a huge change — and furious customers are threatening to cancel memberships

"struggling to activate the new card." "leading to some Costco members waiting for hours to speak with Citi representatives"

that's too bad. took me about one minute to activate the new card but i wasn't able to link my citi online login to it. that's not a good sign.

McDonalds is in a no win situation. No matter how much better their food gets, how healthy their options become, how `ethical` their sources become, none of that will get the people who are pushing them to do all those things to actually become customers.

McDonalds became the boogeyman for people to blame for their own poor eating habits and its unlikely they will be able to shake that.
