Laptops
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on September 26th, 2017 @ 11:59AM

I don't know how anyone uses laptops. The screen size is so small. And I hate using the touchpad crap. I always just install a wireless mouse then have to drag around a mouse pad. My laptop (free) is from 2008 now. I like how they don't take up a lot of space but otherwise are pretty useless to me. They're only cool if you take trips and still want your computer.

I NEED a laptop since I work at 3 different sites during the week. I have a decent one since the company I work for buys it and I can kinda choose what I want (I think the one I am using was $2300 or so). It is a bit ruggedized and I have a decent repair/replace warranty on it, so that is some of that price.

I CANNOT use a track pad though. I do bring a mousepad (a thin one I put between the screen and keyboard to travel) and a wireless mouse. I'm not tough on my gear, so my mouse has lasted me almost 5 years now.

Unfortunately, that is how I have to work, on a small laptop screen. You get used to it though.
