12/22/2016 - Life straw on sale again for $14. It's pretty like flimsy though. I saw they sell a case for it for like $19 which is more than the damn straw. What a rip.

I'm continuing to buy things. You can check out the purchases in my Amazon Profile. I got a latern. I have 3 flashlights. I still don't have any food but I think I have the water covered. I saw that the mormons are good at selling food here and here and other products. I don't have a good portable water supply though.

12/7/2016 - Bought P-38 Can Opener and P-51 Can Opener. Haven't tried them yet but I think I'll try one next can I get.

12/7/2016 - Bought the water barrel at Sam's Club site for $100. Free shippin. You didn't need a membership.

12/6/2016 - Awesome Cord for $2.49 check it out (ends 29 days)

Help me pick things for disasters, etc.

If anyone wants to buy me anything off my Amazon Wishlist on the right, feel free.

What do they know? Mega-rich preparing for disaster

Glock 17. 6-8 magazines . A holster. A case of 1,000 rds of TMJ 9mm ammo for practice and 100-200 rds of HP for personal defense. Maybe a chest rig to hold spare mags.

None of the other stuff matters if you can't defend it.

Geoff, word of advice. You should ONLY stock food you actually like to eat. You should be rotating some of your food storage into your diet so that none of it becomes too old. I personally have a few 5 gallon buckets filled with Oats because I like oatmeal. My old man has a few 5 gallon buckets with wheat because he loves to eat soaked wheat (I think it is gross).

If you have space You should get a 60 gallon drum and fill it with water. Once you fill it you can add a small amount of bleach to keep it from growing things:
http://www.cdc.gov/healthywater/pdf/emergency/09_202278-b_make_water_safe_flyer_508.pdf

Finally you should try put money into savings. It does no good to be prepared for a food crisis only to get hit with a financial emergency. I know you talk about living check to check, but if you can find some way to cut expenses and create a buffer in your bank account, it can be a huge life saver... with the goal of having enough money saved to live off of for 3 months.

Its real easy. Find where the liberal idealists live, break in their house, and steal their food. They won`t be armed.... and if they are, will have no clue how to use a gun.

I figure if shit goes down you won't be able to access your bank accounts. All the roads will be blocked. Just get a dirt bike use the major power lines as your roadway.

Also you live in California so can only have 10 round magazines. Can't really compete with the guys who can have 32 round magazines.

Sure banks will be useless when "EVERYTHING" falls apart, but often disasters are localized and it really helps to have money saved in those situations.

sure biv! ok im no super expert or pro but ill give some tips ive learned and have put to use (or plan to do if the shtf) You can buy the expensive storable food if you want to spend the money or do it the cheapie blue collar way which i have.

food and water first thats most important:
Ok you gotta cook your food and you are an urbanite (like me i imagine) Get a lantern cooker. Its only 34 bux and it works great. i have one its a great investment for light in the darkness and to cook with. trust me you probably wont be out there finding the wood you need for making a fire in a disaster or shtf apocalypse scenario. you might have to avoid baddies so having this is super convienent. cooker it comes with two small cooking pans that work great for one serving of rice or heating up a can of ravioli. or use your own small saucepan. and go to k-mart or wal mart and buy lamp oil you will find it in the lamp section/home section. they also sell extra wicks get em and also the long lighters to light the wick. the more oil and wicks you have the better. the oil in those lamps does burn a good while so its very awesome.

Water, fill up 2 liter coke bottles of water, plastic apple juice bottles, save all those liter and 2 liter and any plastic jug with a top and dont throw them away, start storing water right now. fill em up. even if all you have is one bottle thats more water than your neighbor has. go to an auto parts store they (like mine) of course sell 2-5 gallon gas cans, ask them if they can order you 5 gallon water cans they look like gas cans but they are clear plastic. they dont cost much but are great for storing water., or buy a plastic 5 gallon gas can fill it with water and tape a sign on it "WATER" make sure its a new can that never had gas in it duh.

also for water a good idea is to purchase a dehumidifier to make your own water, this will only work if theres electricity but its great if the govt goes full genocide and dumps poison in the water but keeps the electicity on you can make your own water (hey ya never know with this evil world look at flints water or youtube videos of flammable water) you need a way of getting water, cant rely on rain (or the govt taps!)

solar panels on ebay are getting pretty cheap i wont go into all that but its easy to get into and would be great for your dehumdifier to run. home depot sells tons of dehumifiers i found one for about 89 bux or less, i forget the cost but it doesnt consume a whole lot of power and runs off my 100 watt solar panel (connected to 2 deep cycle batteries) so i can make drinkable water with nothing. filter the water of any dust using coffee filters. water is super important, store as much as you can and use my method to obtain water or learn from youtube other clever methods for getting water including using a towel on the dew covered grass in the mornings to get water that way.

Food:
Get bags of rice, its cheap it stores easy. get plastic containers like tupperware or other things and also ziplock bags put the bags of unopened rice in the ziploc bags and then into the plastic sealable container 3 layers of protection for storing. i have rice from 2010-2011 still good store just like that. get packets of sauce from taco bell for food flavorings etc. its free! and everytime you are at the store buy a few cans to put back for your food supply (the movie "the road" think of that all that food he found) and despite rumors canned food lasts many many decades. canned food from 1918 was found and proved to still be edible. exiration dates mean nada

So buy cans of peas and carrots, good nutrition, buy cans of tamales, cans of soups, family size cans of soups, beef stew, fruit cocktail, spaghetti`os mix it up. if it looks good to ya buy it. dont have to spend 500 bux in one shopping but a few cans here and there, shop the off brands they are cheap and still taste good. get cans of sliced apples, but try your best not to ever eat any of this, save it for "that time" before long you will have a closet or corner full of food and with the lantern a guaranteed way to cook it.

thats a few of my tips for the most crucial of survival needs. Of course make you a bugout bag too.

I have more water and canned goods stocked in my pantry than that RRP...and that's just my normal supply haha. You wouldn't last a month on that supply.

You're going to need that water just to keep all the sodium in that spam and canned goods from dehydrating you :P~

i have not showed my rice supply. i got enough to feed the chinese haha. But yes i know i need to keep building up. i figure if we get trump we will have a good 8 years of safety. But with crooked hillary maybe less than a year before it looks like a fallout dlc in america. My goal is to be able to survive the initial months of the morons that didnt prep and then venture out. hurricane katrina is an example of what alot of people will do. they have no idea how to survive, they are tv watching gimme gimme types that waited under bridges for help to come to them. many of them died sitting in their damn lounge chairs bloating and rotting there while they all screamed "gimme bottled water help me!" Not me.

heres a cool series on urban survival.

If you buy non-perishable foods in enough quantity and get a good deal, they are cheaper than food bought in the store.

For instance, I was searching for red-rice online and eventually I found rice rice that`s 25 pounds for $25 (plus an additional $26 for shipping) whereas in the stores it`s $5 a pound.

Infowars resells various nonperishable foods and usually sells them cheaper than the manufacturer`s website. Their sales constantly change so you have to watch for them.
