I went to a signing event and nearly every other person had one. I'm in meetings sometimes where 2-3 people have them.

who wears a watch?
wasn't the point of putting a clock on your phone so that you don't have to wear a watch?

i wear a watch cuz getting your giant ass tablet sized phone out of your pocket is pointless. Get past the lock screen, hit power, just to find the time.

You have to get past your lock screen to see the time?

The closest I wear to a watch is my Microsoft Band in "watch mode" and that is only about 1/2 the time. The rest of the time I use my "giant ass tablet sized phone" with its glance screen.

I tried the Moto 360 and they can be pretty useful if you're active such as jogging. Also the moto had WiFi and offline music storage. Was nice to go jogging and take my music with me without hassle ... Simple wireless syncing. Also could communicate with my Bluetooth headphones. So it was like having a mini phone on my wrist.
In addition, I am a type 1 diabetic, so I could hook up my continuous blood glucose monitor to my watch and get notified what my blood sugar was without fussing about in my pockets while in a meeting, walking in a plane terminal, jogging, weight lifting, and generally doing anything. Getting at a glance info with 1 wrist movement is great. Same with replying to text messages verbally. And doing quick searches. Or taking notes. Or looking at and marking off my grocery list in the aisle.
I'm not sure about Apple ... They lock down most everything and I strongly prefer Android.
Granted I was doing all this paired with a Nexus 6 ... So not sure non-google would be as nice.

Watches are so last century. You stare at a damn computer screen all day and the only time you should only be worried about the time is while you're at work (and on a computer).
Other than that your phone can provide the time at a glance and I have the biggest phone made right now and have no problem glancing at it for the time.
My other issue people used to need watches because they worked off of schedules and they had to manually follow those schedules. These days we have computers and reminders and alarms (on our phones) to do all that for us.
I don't even wear my wedding band because jewelry is so uncomfortable...I can't imagine wearing a watch over something so mundane as want to know the time a few milliseconds faster. I think it must be a habit thing.
