:UPDATE:
I went out on the road today. It was SUPER fun. The scenery was pretty cool, and it was WIDE open all the way. We saw about 7 cops in 15min, and a few of them had people pulled over.
I have a fairly high-end car. We saw a Corvette (base) and a C63 AMG. Not a lot of really cool/fast cars out there today.
Considering posting some vids - if anyone is interested.
SA Express News
The fastest highway on the country that connects SA to Austin. I'm getting the next 5 days off from work, and I'm going to Austin for absolutely no reason tomorrow.
If the limit is 85mph, that means I can really go like 92mph, right? :)

| Technically, yes, you can go 92, but that's like saying "Hey, my bill is due on the 25th, but they don't add a late charge to it till the 28th, so its not due till then".
That being said, do keep in mind, Texian cops are KNOWN for being the biggest dicks that walk the planet --- if they aren't being lazy. |

| wont work if people dont follow the simple rule of yielding to people coming up behind you.
in most every other country, you cant just sit in the left lane and force folks to go around you. cops ticket people who dont yield to faster cars.
i wish that law existed here. |

In a lot of states it does, it's just not enforced. Left lane is usually supposed to be for passing and people can get ticketed for being in that lane while not passing... it just never actually happens |

| Typically people in the left lane get out of the way for me unless they are texting or talking with a passenger in which case I go around them and cut them off when I merge back into their lane. That usually causes them to start paying attention to the road and get over.
I drive 85-95 MPH on a 70MPH toll road every day to work, I slow for corners and spots where cops hide but others I blow through the whole 25 mile stretch on my commute. |

That's the best possible case driving around in the Northeast (from NY to Mass, with some dabbling in Pa/NJ/DC) and people do not do that.
To me personally, everyone drives like they're the only ones on the damn road. If you don't tailgate hard, people do not get out of the way. And if you try to go around, they pull the ol' accelerate-because-I-wasn't-paying-attention-but-this-will-surely-correct-things.
I've had to consciously alter the way I drive because people are just such inconsiderate jerkoffs.
Despite all that, I love driving.
When I find that pack of fellow speeders and we bob and weave through traffic, it's one of the best feelings in the world. |

| Depending on which vehicle I'm driving I typically pass them before they are even aware of it or I identify the type of driver by watching their eyes in their rear-view as I come up on them and use my inherent speed advantage to pass them before they can respond. The aforementioned texters and chatters never even look in the RVM which is why they usually never get over.
I do hate the assholes who do the "ol' accelerate-because-I-wasn't-paying-attention-but-this-will-surely-correct-things" manuever or at least try it. I always slow down when I get in front of those people to piss them off after I pass them.
Conversely when I see someone coming up behind me I will typically speed up until I'm doing 95 or so...if they still keep closing on me I'll usually get over depending on the other road circumstances. |

| Tolls are so weird. You can drive around Michigan at 90 all day if you know the right roads.
You pay taxes right? WTF are you paying tolls for? |

| I drive on a Toll road to work every day. I could go several other ways but it would cost me another 20-30 minutes of travel time.
Toll roads are less congested, tend to have higher speed limits, and in the case of Ohio and Snow are better maintained and better plowed during the winter.

| In NYC, the tolls are necessary. There are so many god damn bridges, parkways, expressways, drives, etc. and millions of folks that would probably flip their shit if they had to pay taxes on any of them.
I don't mind the tolls - they led to one of the greatest innovations in the history of mankind:
The EZPass.
