I think this is pretty neat for anyone who likes history and can't stand hearing another D-Day lecture. Here is something new.

Yeah, this is good stuff. It's shocking how little the typical Westerner knows about the German-Soviet portion of the conflict. I'd estimate that 80 pct of the European 'action' took place between these two countries. Relatively speaking, North Africa, Italy, and the events following D-Day were a sideshow compared to this theater. This was the most savage conflict in human history, bar none. Both countries were fighting, using every means available, for their national survival. The only thing that shocks me still is that poison gas wasn't employed by either side (at least in any deliberate, widespread fashion).

I believe Hitler was gassed in WW1 and was against its use by German troops. And yes it was a very savage battle. Listen to some of the veteran interviews. One guy says that after his capture the kommandant lined the entire prison camp and shot every 4th prisoner after an escape attempt.

Aside from some pro-Soviet bias (where are the first couple years of the war, when the USSR and Nazis were allied?), this was absolutely amazing. I mean, I`ve seen a lot of attempts to use flash to portray wars.. but nothing NEAR as incredible as this.
