IN RESPONSE TO: Need help on reviewing new computer setup for Nephew

I'd get a bigger SSD. Only $20 more doubles the space.

Also, quit holding on to the past and forget 7. If you can accept 8, we can work out a deal (I can't sell for more than I pay for in employee store). Either one gets you to 10 in a few weeks.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Apple Watch

The closest I wear to a watch is my Microsoft Band in "watch mode" and that is only about 1/2 the time. The rest of the time I use my "giant ass tablet sized phone" with its glance screen.

IN RESPONSE TO: WoW Expansion on sale 40% off

I am all for banning the botters, especially if that is all the account does. I wish they'd been a little more lenient with me since it is plain to see I have multiple toons and played for a very long time. That said, I get that they can't put eyes on every account that the detection system flags.

As to why I started using a bot, I just got my first horde toon to 100. I wanted to get him cooking skill. Easiest way to do that is with fish, so I used a fishing bot.

I made the choice to break the rules and I got caught. Now I am done with the game. Not because I am pissed at the company or anything, I am just too lazy to start over. I am going to miss it, I wanted to see the new garrison ship stuff.

I liked it a lot, until I broke the ToS and got banned. Played from vanilla release until last week when I got stupid.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Health Class

on topic: I think a more balanced approach would be to say if you get the giggles or are otherwise disruptive, you will be asked to step outside until you can regain your composure. For missing class, you get to write a report on the symptoms and treatment of STD X if you want to get a passing grade.

off topic: Charkoth, the problem is that you also have parents of questionable beliefs at home that won't teach anything or teach the abstinence only approach.

Look at the recent news out of TX with the school with no sex ed. The kids didn't know how to protect themselves and the school has a major STD outbreak. http://abcnews.go.com/Health/chlamydia-outbreak-hits-texas-high-school-sex-ed/story?id=30798143

Now comes the 7th grade is too young argument. I agree 7th grade is too young to be having sex. However, some kids still do. Not many, hopefully, but I knew kids that were active when I was that age and that was 25 years ago. So I'd rather teach kids before they are even thinking about it, as uncomfortable as that will make them and me. These are not instructional classes on how, when, etc. to have sex. They are classes on how we reproduce, why we have the feelings and urges we do, the risks of sex, and how to protect yourself and your partner in the event you do act upon those urges. Usually with a strong emphasis on no protection is 100% and you better be ready to accept any outcomes that can happen if you do.

In 7th grade, kids are what? 13? About 5% of boys are active by that age and 2% of girls. That is based on the graph at http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/FB-ATSRH.html Surely not what I want my kid to be doing at 13, but if he does I want him to be aware of the risks and how to reduce those risks.

(not a lawyer and laws vary by state disclaimers here) Underage sex is illegal if one party is an adult. I highly doubt if teens are caught in the act, either would be charged with a crime. Even if it was illegal, kids do stupid shit. Something being illegal will not stop someone who really wants to do it. Especially when the act is done in private and they are convinced the partner would never tell because they are in love.

IN RESPONSE TO: Windows Parental Controls?

Windows ones work great for that if you quit clinging to 7 and upgrade.

•The in-box time restrictions were enhanced by providing ability to control total amount of time per day computer can be used (time allowance) in addition to ability to control times when computer can be used (curfew.) Curfew was available in previous versions of Windows.

IN RESPONSE TO: I got to stay at an Airforce Base

I did 11 years in the AF. The pay was shit, the medical care was good, but aside from those things you can call compensation, the AF helped me grow up, taught me responsibility, and made me who I am today. Throw in the cool job I had (http://theaviationist.com/2013/02/26/boomer-kc135/) and the travel that went with it and you get a great overall experience. Sure there were some bad parts, but I learned from them.

Horrible movie. They couldn't even get basic physics right. Near the end when the pilot is pulling the plane out of the dive, the people float into the air.

IN RESPONSE TO: Did police in Florida miss their chance to save British teen and her drug-addled boyfriend from their 'suicide mission' that left a policeman shot dead?

One of the photo captions says they allegedly died. I thought that one was sort of a black and white topic, no real gray area.
