Lol @meorah ... Not telling your family something for fear of them "spending it" is silly as hell. Learn to say no and take charge of your own income.

As far as quitting and moving on. First stop spending so much time on gaming and masturbatory activities (for lack of a better term). Spend time making your skills actually good. Fix your eating habits to have a healthy diet. Fix you before you can expect any company to treat you well. Fact of the matter is you mean little to a company the size of Activision. Even your main guys mean little. A company that size will get by with almost anyone if they've instilled the right company messaging and mottos for employees to parrot back.

End of the day you're exactly where you should be. Until you fix your personal life problems, where they stick you at work is just a symptom. As long as Blizzard doesn't have layoffs you're probably fine. If that ever changes, be prepared.

Change your diet. Eating "gamer garbage" on the regular, rather than a once in awhile treat, will just make you more depressed and harder to fix the problems in your life.

This is literally the most convoluted post I've ever seen on this site. Healthcare costs are out of control because everyone is unhealthy and fat.

Quitting gaming, focusing on losing weight with diet ... then after losing the weight focusing on exercise / getting my daily life organized fixed my problems. Hope things look up for you.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Windows 10

Due to me giving up gaming for good, I really have no reason to use Windows anymore. I'll be switching to Linux soon and have a Windows VM ready to fire up if I need it for something.

I'm finally realizing why Windows is a pain in the ass. Windows 10 is just a bunch of extra bloat. Instead of aiming for simplicity, they went the other direction.

America is all about being underprivileged. Race to the bottom. It's not about acceptance, it's about how much you can shove down everyone's throats and get as much attention and money as possible. Combine that with the California mentality group think and you get people so out of touch with reality that they think they have to actively be a social justice warrior to ease their empty conscience.

Just use google play music ... it's a lot easier. Hell even Amazon is easier. Apple is the most ridiculous bullshit on the face of the planet in every product they release.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Apple Watch

I tried the Moto 360 and they can be pretty useful if you're active such as jogging. Also the moto had WiFi and offline music storage. Was nice to go jogging and take my music with me without hassle ... Simple wireless syncing. Also could communicate with my Bluetooth headphones. So it was like having a mini phone on my wrist.

In addition, I am a type 1 diabetic, so I could hook up my continuous blood glucose monitor to my watch and get notified what my blood sugar was without fussing about in my pockets while in a meeting, walking in a plane terminal, jogging, weight lifting, and generally doing anything. Getting at a glance info with 1 wrist movement is great. Same with replying to text messages verbally. And doing quick searches. Or taking notes. Or looking at and marking off my grocery list in the aisle.

I'm not sure about Apple ... They lock down most everything and I strongly prefer Android.

Granted I was doing all this paired with a Nexus 6 ... So not sure non-google would be as nice.

IN RESPONSE TO: WoW Expansion on sale 40% off

    Hey Killer,

I literally have been playing non-stop since beta. Never took a single break. I've been botting since 2010 and this is the first time I've ever been banned. This is actually the first "banwave" of Honorbuddy since they started in 2010. Before that, all bans occurred off of player reports.

What I'm saying is, if there is a report of a player, they should get banned. I don't think an automatic detection of the bot (which is what happened recently) ... this should be cause for mass banning. There should be only banning for reports that the player botting is actually causing harm to other players.

I'm not a doomsday sayer like most. I'm not one to be like "oh rift came out, WoW is over!" or "oh welfare epics, WoW is over!". I'm saying, it doesn't make sense for Blizzard to blindly ban (through automatic bot detection) a large portion of its player base when they've never lost 1/4 of their subscriber in a single quarter (before the ban).

    Take a look here: http://www.statista.com/statistics/276601/number-of-world-of-warcraft-subscribers-by-quarter/

There's never been this significant of a drop in subscribers, especially directly after an expansion release. They lost essentially all subscriber who came back after the xpack + even more. I'm just making my own opinion commentary on the situation. Systematic banning of programmatic detection of botting is STUPID (in my opinion). Banning of players who bot BASED ON PLAYER REPORTS, is ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT.

The players who botted that no one else ever even knew ... why is this important? Based on zero tolerance "just because"? I don't think it makes sense financially for Blizzard. They're going to alienate a large portion of players who botted for lazy reasons, rather than nefarious reasons. And again, it all comes back to the same argument: are you a zero tolerance person or someone who can see gray?

    Just my 2 cents really.

IN RESPONSE TO: WoW Expansion on sale 40% off

I get your point killer, but it just doesn't make sense to me. It's a principles "zero tolerance" thing rather than an not-talked-about thing. If they're getting reports from other players about Player X, then by all means investigate and ban him. He's obviously pissing off people and therefore it's a problem. But "banwaving" a ton of people who would rather not deal with grindy bullshit and instead focus on the part of the game they enjoy (such as raiding or whatever) ... seems pretty dumb to me. They're just alienating people because now they're saying "you HAVE to do this really boring part if you want to get to stuff YOU enjoy".

I get the whole argument from the non-botters ... but it isn't good for Blizzard's bottom line to force people into something they don't want to do. Now you'll get people (like me) who just don't give a shit enough to keep playing. No more $$ for Blizzard and eventually you kill off guilds and in-game friendships, which are the backbone of subscription $$ and a healthy community. All that because some guy was botting his garrison? Is it really worth it long term? They're already losing 1/4 of subscriptions in a quarter and now banning another large portion of players. It won't stop hardcore botters that ruin BGs ... and it won't stop botters who run large scale money making gold operations (who play the auction house with advanced bot scripts).

All this does is alienate "normal" players who bot because they DISLIKE a certain aspect of the game. Instead of playing by Blizzard's flat rules, they'd rather play WoW their way. At the end of the day, gold is meaningless in wow. Flasks are a dime a dozen. So really, who cares if someone doesn't manually "do their garrison" every day and has a couple extra flasks? Does it REALLY hurt them?

Things that affect other players: large scale botters on the AH, "herb/mine" botters that steal mineral nodes, BG botters, etc... These players have been getting banned for a long time due to other players reporting the behavior. This banwave knocked out the botting for maybe a couple weeks ... it's now back up and running again.

Now they lost a 10 year player (me) and I'm sure plenty of others in my boat. And for what? Was I REALLY hurting other people by botting my characters to be leveled up? To be able to run my stupid followers (which were basically "necessary" for raiding)? Now I'm no longer raiding with my friends and yet another person in my circle is out of the loop. Like any club, attrition is the death of it.

End of the day people will see it as black and white - like most things. They believe 0 tolerance is the only solution to situations like this. And so be it. Subscriber numbers will speak for themselves.
