IN RESPONSE TO: House Dems turn out the lights but GOP keeps talking

What would really drive down the price of gas is more American refineries and production facilities. Despite the increase in demand, we haven`t built an oil refinery since 1976. Carter made it virtually impossible to build a refinery, and the EPA gladly continues his legacy. The cost of overexerted refineries and ridiculous environmental regulations is what we pay at the pump. Added supply would help (speculation markets), but not much if we can`t refine that extra supply.

However, if American companies are allowed to drill, then the money that is spent to get that oil (both by the company and by the consumer) would stay IN America`s economy, which would give it a massive stimulus, in addition the new jobs those companies could/would then provide.

At least a few in Washington have started to get the hint that we need solutions NOW. I wasn`t too impressed with the GOP (or Congress in general) but this shows that a few have the balls and the brains to do their job, even if it`s unpopular. The fact that the Democrats (led by Pelosi) decided to take their vacation instead of doing what needed to be done shows you how much they care.

IN RESPONSE TO: 21 Questions Answered About Mormon Faith

Once again Wootah, I am impressed at your ability to explain the Mormon faith, but I`m curious, you say you were raised Mormon, does that that mean you are no longer Mormon? Don`t feel obligated to answer if you would prefer not to but I am curious.
And to Taft: What feels fishy about the answers? they seem very straightforward to me, I mean, these concepts are very in-depth and a three sentence answer isn`t going to explain everything, so it sounds to me like they did the best they could in such short answers.

IN RESPONSE TO: I am Legend

I really liked it, But I did leave wanting more (plotwise) I think they should have had Neville realize that the mutants were smarter than he gave them credit for, and possibly had a social structure. It seemed that the entirety of the movie was building towards that, but then didn`t finish with that line of thought. If they had the alpha male mutant recognize the girl and used that as Neville`s realization, that would`ve been cool, but I don`t know how they would`ve factored that into him blowing them all to bits, so I guess its just as well.

IN RESPONSE TO: Orson Scott Card Speaks on Mormons

Orson Scott Card actually writes a political column that is well written and usually provides a unique perspective, check it out here: LINK

I really enjoy it, but I`m also a huge fan of his books.

IN RESPONSE TO: What Mormon Theology Is Really All About Cartoon

Hey bschultz, Just a slight clearification, Mormons do believe that Christ was resurrected after 3 days in the tomb, and then went to the Americas to teach. If anybody has a real question about Mormon`s or what we believe, I`d be happy to try and answer it. I am a Mormon, so I might be able to explain it, I`d say its better to get facts (strait from Bible or Book of Mormon) about our religion than just assume.

IN RESPONSE TO: Islam is a religion of peace!

its a shame when specific religious movements try to subver scouting to be something else

Which religious movements, exactly, are trying to subvert the Boy Scouts of America into something else Nalcolm? I happened to work for the BSA and it is First and formost about instilling in young people the values of the Scout Oath and Law, which includes "...do my duty to God..."

IN RESPONSE TO: What Mormon Theology Is Really All About Cartoon

Well, I am Mormon, and I can tell you that this video has very little accurate information, mostly it`s wildly exaggerated rumors that have little or no basis in our beliefs. Just out of curiosity, why did you post it Nebu?

Yeah that is sweet, this was supposed to be the future, and yet I don`t have a jetpack, a vacation house on the moon, or a flying car, but at least this is a step in the right direction. Still though, it has a long way to go before its really useable practically.
