IN RESPONSE TO: Women Driving Around Alone with Strangers?

Ohio? I don't know, I heard there were some guys in Ohio like, kidnapping women and locking them up for years at a time...

IN RESPONSE TO: Women Driving Around Alone with Strangers?

Some people just don't like it when you don't mince words. But you're basically on point.

Everybody's got to take stock of their own safety.

"I'm going to go drive around with a person I don't know that well, I met him playing a game on the internet." Does it necessarily sound like a good idea? No, but assuming you're dealing with adults, you've voiced your concern, and that's about all you can do.

IN RESPONSE TO: Ack Dropped my Galaxy S3

Without a doubt, get yourself an Otterbox case. Pricy, and not pretty, but they're just so solid.

IN RESPONSE TO: Boston Marathon Suspect

Yes, I know I'm being "that guy".

If it had been LAPD, they would have not gotten him alive, burnt down that guy's house, and shot a few uninvolved people along the way.

Nebu, we can agree to disagree on the meaning of that verse. Admittedly, I grew up on King James version. I read it as respecting your body, as a vessel of God, in this example with regards to fornication, and asks that you glorify God in your body and your spirit, which are both His.

You know, this is a very odd turn for me to take while commenting on this site. Back to the original point, no, I don't care much for tattoos either.

Come on, don't take Corinthians 6:19 out of context like that.

I somehow responded to CRowsey before he posted.

She's appealing because she doesn't seem to take it seriously.

IN RESPONSE TO: Redbox: The Dark Knight Rises

I enjoyed the movie. I didn't think it was as good as its two predecessors, but that's okay.

Really, only Christopher Nolan would have the stones to try to give Batman a happy ending. Of all people, Batman? Really?

hjparcins, I sent you a friend request. Accept it, and I'll gift ya.

(random fact - Of my 137 steam friends, 8 do not own Portal)

IN RESPONSE TO: Happy Birthday M. Bacon

You know, I remember your first post about having a kid, and at the time I was like, "oh, that's nice." But two years later, my wife and I welcomed our daughter into the world, and then I got it. Isn't it amazing how your "everything" changes?

killer6600 - that looks like an affirmative.

From that massive list, we have only 14 games in common - how is that even possible?

On that note, anybody want a Civ5 or a Dota2? I've got one of each to gift... oh, and a Portal(1).

IN RESPONSE TO: Patriot Game - OBAMA VS ROMNEY VIDEO GAME!

This kind of highlights my feeling that I have very little variance in my choices. Reminds me of this game I played a while back. Unless I didn't get enough points along the way and there's another guy with a green tie as well..

Reagan would not be assassinated, he would be vilified on the internet as an example of how Hollywood thinks it can run the country.

IN RESPONSE TO: Obama Invokes Privilege in Bid to Halt Contempt Vote

So, basically nothing has "change"d except which side the supporters come from. Continued evidence that our political system is a sham. If you choose a party, the only difference is who's pulling the wool over your eyes.

One more party, or two less.

I was really hoping it was going to be Booster Gold. I mean, his name is Booster Gold.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Hot Mom

"I wonder what a terrible parent would do if you backhanded their kid."

Ironically, probably the same thing a decent parent would do. There's a sort of implied understanding about touching other people's children.

This is the reason I sometimes dread taking my two-year-old to the park. I let her do her thing and learn how to deal with other kids on her own, but I know that sometimes I have to intervene because some kids will get very physical, and I am not going to stand there and watch.

Fortunately, I've never had to physically touch someone else's kid. The one time I came close, I considering grabbing this kid and tossing him off the top of some playground equipment.

This 4 or 5 year old thought it was funny to jump on my daughter's hand while she was climbing up one of those playground ladders. If it had only been once I might have thought it was a mistake. That, and the smile. Not the smile of playing a game, but the smile of getting away with something.

    "WHOSE F'ING KID IS THIS."

A lot of heads turned around on that one. One mom came over.

"Sorry, he plays like that with his brothers."

Sorry, lady, your kid is freaking messed up. Already.

What I'd really like to do sometimes is slap the cellphone out of some of these crappy mom's hands and demand they try to keep at least *one* eye on their kid. It's almost always the mom on the phone. Or at the other park, it's the nanny. Whatever.

This is why fights break out at Chuck E Cheese's... it's a very base instinct to protect one's children.

IN RESPONSE TO: Tupac Rises from the Dead

Back when that guy was alive, I would never have thought that 15 years later I would be saying that music was better THEN. I thought it was mostly crap then, but I never imagined how much worse it could be.

I must be getting old. No, I must already be old.

    IN RESPONSE TO: "Nao"

Funny, I see "nao" and I think of this Brazilian girl I knew in college... it's Portuguese for "don't". At least, that's what she *told* me it means...
