IN RESPONSE TO: Heroes of the Storm

You get gold by doing daily quests (play 3 games as a StarCraft hero, play 2 games as an assassin etc) and also by levelling up your account and each hero (even the free rotation ones.) So, it's not that hard to get to thousands of gold.

IN RESPONSE TO: Miracles Happen: Battle.net Chat

Battle.net chat client existed until like 1999. It was an open interface and there lots of clients written for it. They got rid of it because of all the bots and silly channel wars.

Funny quote from the US in another article:
"Freedom of the seas doesn't just apply to fish. It applies to all maritime nations, all navies, everywhere -- so long as they understand the responsibilities which come with that freedom," the defense official said.

"So if they chose to send their ships to the Atlantic, I'm sure they won't be surprised to find many, many others already there."

IN RESPONSE TO: Cops get away with almost anything

First I read the summary as "who mistakenly opened an innocent man’s pickup truck during the manhunt " and thought ... ok no big deal. He opened a door.

    The I re-read it. Haha

    IN RESPONSE TO: Router Help

    WGT45 isn't a cable modem, it's just a router. So DOCSIS doesn't apply.

Getting an N router is a good idea if you are using WiFi, but if you are having problems with a computer that is directly connected with wired Ethernet to the router, won't fix the real issue.

Usually cabling inside the house (past the demarcation point)is the homeowners problem but I guess that varies.

Time travel just makes it confusing. They should just make it a standalone game with new characters, share the same subscription fee.

IN RESPONSE TO: Why Are American Health Care Costs So High?

In Canada, drugs given a hospital are publicly funded. Outside of hospitals, there are some public plans to reduce costs for certain income groups (seniors) or people with specific diseases. This central price negotiation drives down prices for everyone. Many Canadians still have a private insurance plan for drugs through their employer.
The government also puts overall price controls on patented medicines and people don't sue pharmaceutical companies as much here.

IN RESPONSE TO: PayPal is causing crowdfunded game developers all kinds of woes

At the core, Paypal wants to be "like a bank" but not fall under all the banking regulations. Which means they are subject to credit card companies and real banks doing chargebacks against them like any other merchant.

IN RESPONSE TO: Went to the Drive-In

Drive-ins were never intended for the era of automatic (light sensor) headlights. Nobody thinks to put them in the manual off position.
Last drive in I went to was showing Independence Day and Men In Black...so 1997. And we made fun of how old the drive-in seemed THEN.
