    IN RESPONSE TO: Today's Politics

When people cite youtube videos as "evidence" of anything, you know the world has a very big problem.
I'm sad to see Nebu, and this site, brought down to RRP levels.

    Goodbye E/N.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Today's Politics

Nebu, you are part of the problem:

You have joined Rowdy Roddy Piper in the nut-job category if you think that thousands of regular people working at dozens of major news outlets are conspiring to cover-up some fictitious Clinton-related pedophile scandal - and this is more likely than some a-hole in his basement making shit up and posting it on an Australian fake-news website.

It is seriously time for a reality check man.

JanMan, its called cognitive dissonance, and Nebu is a perfect example. People have beliefs, and they filter all incoming information to conform to those beliefs. So if CNN says something that Nebu does not believe, he files it under "liberal media bias or lie", and when some fake-news site says something he believes, he files it under "truth". Facebook makes this much easier, as it feeds people all the fake news, blogs and memes from their echo-chamber of friends, which reinforces their previously-held beliefs.

Different from ignoring / not enforcing / laxly enforcing:
    - speed limits
    - underage drinking
    - jaywalking
    - paying taxes on babysitting money
    - etc.

Love Heroes of the Storm. I like Azmodan so much that I stopped playing other characters.

Not to sound callous, but "my camera doesn't work underwater" is the very a definition of "first world problem".

IN RESPONSE TO: POS Dentist paying $55,000 to kill Cecil - Africa's most famous lion

You know what would actually make you a bad-ass? Going on a wild lion-petting safari. Or even a mission to clip their mane. But shooting from a distance? Pussy.

IN RESPONSE TO: If I lived in Florida, where's the best spot?

My parents live on Siesta Key, near Sarasota, an hour south of Tampa. It has gotten crowded and expensive, but it is still awesome. Best beach in the country, great weather, good nightlife, good people.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Health Class

    Comment time!
This sort of policy is not made in a vacuum. It is implemented as the result of a lot of shitty experiences with kids being overly disruptive and parents complaining about how their kid was punished for it. Either teachers/schools are allowed to kick-out and punish individual kids for being overly disruptive, or you end up with a draconian zero-tolerance policy.

Thanks for clearing that up RRP. It all makes sense now.

I wish god would step up and prevent stuff like this, instead of just being in charge of revenge.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Thursday News

I love Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. They are funny, intelligent, satirical, and thought-provoking (especially the more recent ones like Making Money). Also his book Good Omens (with Neil Gaiman) is awesome. Very sad to lose him.

IN RESPONSE TO: FCC adopts historic Internet rules

Thank goodness the president and the FCC are not total techno-feebs. I've never been prouder of my government. The tide turns slowly, but it does turn, and that gives me some hope for the future.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Disneyland

Amusement park food almost ruins the experience for me. They sell you crappy expensive food with long lines, and they don't allow you to bring your own food. So the last couple times I have gone I have brought some of my own food and claimed I had food allergies. Suck it a-holes.

IN RESPONSE TO: SAUDI OIL MINISTER: I Don't Care If Prices Crash To $20 — We're Not Budging

Yes Nebu - how is America not helping your oil prices fall, exactly? Studies have shown that the Keystone Pipeline won't have any substantial impact on gas supply or prices, one way or another.
Anyway, if there is any plan by anybody regarding these falling oil prices, it is to squeeze Russia and Venezuela, 2 countries that rely very heavily on oil exports and that we are at odds with foreign-policy-wise.
