I can hear that high frequency noise on the video. How can you not hear that?

IN RESPONSE TO: Fallout Shelter out on Android!

The game seems overly hard to me. Tried two vaults and both times started running out of energy/food/water when I hit around 20-25 dwellers. No amount of upgrades to the rooms helped. Everyone started getting radiation poisoning and losing health. Was kinda fun up until that point though. Wouldn't mind trying again but maybe I'll wait for some updates.

    IN RESPONSE TO: EN Visitors

Hah guess I'm part of that. I moved to the UK from Canada about 2 years ago. Haven't commented much in years but I still visit, this was always a good place for picking up some news I missed elsewhere. Played Travian with you guys a while back which was fun. The comments can be pretty entertaining sometimes too. Wonder who else there is?

    IN RESPONSE TO: Clicker Heroes

I've reached level 189 with only 95 hero souls and three ancients barely levelled. I do have a lot of the achievements for +% damage but I imagine you do too. Are you using the skills? It can get you passed bosses pretty easily. I level Frostleaf to 100 and then start on getting my heroes up to 1000 (I've got 5 or 6 up to 1000).

I'm bored of the game now though, so I'm going to try to forget it for a few weeks at least and come back to lots of gold to spend to maybe break past level 200.

Most fun thing was to have debates with people on this site. Takes up too much time now, and it's pretty futile.

Nah. It's time for a sequel or this next-gen MMO from Blizzard.

IN RESPONSE TO: Super Bowl XLV

I pretty much agree with everything you`ve said there, except that bands can`t sound as good as their albums live. Most bands don`t, that`s true, but there are some good ones out there. Ian Thornley (of Big Wreck) comes to mind. There are others I`ve been to, but I don`t really want to turn this into a my bands vs. your bands thing.

Sound engineering definitely plays a big part though. Last concert I went to was completly ruined by shitty sound. Speakers didn`t seem to handle the volume too well, I could barely hear the lead vocalist, whereas the backup was too loud, and the list went on. And this was a good band that I`d liked in concert before. I think the problem could have been resolved if they just lowered the volume a bit, but that`s a problem on albums as well nowadays. LOUD is in.

So yeah, it`s hit and miss, and maybe it`s easier to listen to albums to avoid the misses, but when it`s a hit, in my opinion it`s worth all the misses just for that one experience.

I don`t go to enough concerts, but I`m guessing eventually you learn to weed out the good from the bad, and your hit to miss ratio goes up.

I do agree that their sound didn`t sound that great but that`s how live works. It`s always crappier which is why I prefer CDs/Mp3s to concerts.

Man are you ever listening to the wrong bands. Concerts can be so much more visceral and enjoyable when the people on the stage are actually good at what they do. In my mind, if a band sounds great on album, and bad on stage, then they are just a bad band. I usually lose interest at that point because it`s just manufactured noise.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Ack, Stung

Did you pick it out of the water with your hand? I used to save bees as a kid at a nearby pond. There would always be a couple in there. I usually used a stick or a piece of bark to pull them out of the water and shake them off onto dry land. Never got stung. Was pretty cool to see them fly away after a few seconds.

Got a key off a generous stranger from another site, couldn`t believe it! Installed and set up my account, but I`ve got to work for the next few hours so I won`t be on until tonight.

IN RESPONSE TO: StarCraft 2 Beta

A friend of mine (who is in the NA beta) just got an invite a friend email. It read "Congratulations! This is an additional invitation to the beta test for ... you to share with a friend!"

Problem was there were two of us he could give it to so he flipped a coin. As my luck would have it, the coin didn`t favor me.

IN RESPONSE TO: Age 35 Today

I always look at birthdays that way, but it doesn`t stop there. I`m 5 years until 30. At which point I`m only 10 years to 40. That`s half way. Near enough is 50, then 60. I`m already retired. It`s all downhill now, so I just let gravity do the work till I`m in the ground. Good times.

    Happy birthday.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Tuesday Links

The only thing that has ever come close to offending me personally was a racist remark directed at Europeans (by extension me, since I was born out there) by a cab driver when I was coming back home.

I was shocked not only at his comment, which I won`t bother repeating, but also the fact that I could get offended. I`d never been offended before, and haven`t since. I`m not even sure if I could call it being offended because I laughed the whole thing off.

I find it ridiculous how easily this word is thrown around. It`s like a catch-all word for anything someone dislikes, when most of the time the reasons behind the "offense" have no effect whatsoever on the person claiming to be offended.

Get over it people. The world at large will never bow to your views. You can either cry about it every single time something doesn`t fit your point of view, or let it go and find something that`s worth your time and somehow fulfills whatever your desires are in this life. If you choose the former, you are going to have one miserable existence.
